Shemaila Sultana joined ORC in June 2016 where she is responsible for the management of intellectual property, licensing and related commercialization programs. She comes with a diverse and highly relevant background and training. After earning a B.S. in Botany and a Master’s in Biotechnology (with a focus in plant biotechnology) from India, she received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the City University of New York. Since 2012, she has been working as a National Institute of Health postdoctoral fellow at RBHS-Rutgers University and joined the ORC internship program in December 2014. Shemaila has also taught organic, inorganic and physical chemistry at NYC’s Hunter College.
