Pavita Howe manages the TechAdvance Fund at Rutgers, providing grants to Rutgers researchers to advance innovative technologies toward commercialization. In this role she oversees the application review process and interacts with industry reviewers, corporate partners, investors, and donors. Prior to Rutgers, Pavita worked as a consultant to technology startups, assisting clients with marketing strategy, new product launches, business plans, customer marketing and investor pitches. Her first startup experience was at Forté, a Southern-California startup that developed the first Internet contact center software for enterprise customers. The company was acquired by Genesys in San Francisco where Pavita managed the New Product Launch Team and Corporate Marketing plans until the company was acquired by Alcatel. Pavita holds a B.Sc. in Nutritional Science and Biochemistry from the University of Guelph and an MBA in Marketing from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.
